A typical backyard patio takes a few days: a day to dig out and haul away, a day for the base, a day or two to lay and finish. Driveways and patios with walls or steps take longer. Your written quote comes with a timeline and a start date, and we give you a heads-up on any weather delay.

Yes, when the base is right. Clay heaves when it freezes, so we dig to firm ground, build the base in compacted lifts and set a slight fall so water leaves the surface. Polymeric sand keeps water out of the joints. Interlock that heaves was almost always laid on a shallow or loose base, and our work carries a 1-year craftsmanship warranty.

Yes. With four brands to choose from there is a colour and a texture for almost any brick or siding, and a contrasting border can pick up the trim. Send a photo of the house and we suggest colours and a border that suit it, with samples to see before you choose. The pavers are billed at what they cost us, so the choice is about looks, not margin.

Yes. Taking out and hauling away the old asphalt, concrete or pavers is part of the job and a line on the quote, along with enough soil to make room for a proper base. The old surface is never left under the new one.

We recommend it. You are putting real money into your patio or driveway, and sealing protects that investment: it deepens the colour, helps resist stains, oil and salt, and makes cleaning easier. Ask us to add it to your quote, and we can come back to re-seal it every few years.

Yes, designs are available on request. For bigger projects we can show you a layout before anything is built, so you see where the patio, the steps and the border land, and you can make changes before we start. Just ask when we quote.

Right away for walking, and cars once the polymeric sand has set, usually within a day or two of the final sweep in dry weather. We tell you the day before we leave. A new driveway handles a snow blower and a plastic shovel from the first winter; keep steel scrapers and heavy salt off it.

Where a driveway crosses the City boulevard, building a new one or widening it needs access approval from the City of Hamilton, and the approach has to fit the City's width limits.
