Getting a quote
Call (905) 906-0671 or send the form on any page. We reply fast, usually within the hour. A lot of the time we can give you a quote over the phone, by text or by email from a description and a few photos; when the job needs a look at the grade or the access, we come out. The written quote is free, and it spells out the scope of work item by item so you know exactly what is included.
Every quote shows a valid-until date, about two weeks out. Material prices move with the season, so if you need more time, ask and we will refresh it.
For bigger projects, yes. Designs are available on request, so you see the shape, the materials and the colours before anything is built. Ask when we quote.
Timing and the season
Start dates are booked in the order quotes are accepted, so accepting early gets you an earlier start. Your quote comes with an expected start window, and we confirm the date before we arrive.
From early spring to late fall. Sod goes down best in spring and fall. Interlock, concrete, walls, decks and fences run all season. Frozen ground ends the digging, and we pick up again as soon as it thaws. Winter is a good time to plan and quote for an early spring start.
Materials, price and payment
You pay what the pavers, stone, soil, sod and plants cost us, with no markup. The contractor discount we get at the yard is passed straight to you. Our price is for the labour and the craftsmanship, and the quote shows it that way.
Quoted prices are shown before HST. HST is added on the agreement, so you see it in writing before you sign and there is no surprise at the end.
A first payment when the agreement is signed, then payments as each stage of the work is finished, with the last on completion. Every amount is in the agreement before we start, and we take cash, e-transfer and cheque.
Yes, we advertise a 10% senior discount. Mention it when you call and it shows on the quote.
Interlock, patios and walls
Almost always the base: too shallow, not compacted, or wet because water had nowhere to go. We lift the pavers, rebuild the base and relay them. Read why patios sink and how we fix them.
Polymeric sand in the joints, which hardens and keeps weeds and ants out. It wears over time, and our patio restoration service cleans and re-sands older interlock.
Yes. A wall holds back soil and water, and water is what pushes walls over. Every wall we build has drainage stone behind it and a way for water to get out. Taller walls can also need a permit, and we tell you if yours does. See retaining walls.
Lawns, gardens and where we work
For a lawn you can use this year, sod. We strip the old turf, add topsoil, grade it and lay fresh sod tight. See sod and lawns.
Either. Many customers like choosing each plant with us; others want a plan to approve. Plants are billed at cost, and we match them to your soil and sun. See gardening.

Warranty, insurance and permits
A 1-year craftsmanship warranty on every job, unless the quote says otherwise. If something we built shifts or fails in that time because of how we built it, we come back and make it right.
Yes, fully insured, with liability coverage on every job, so your home is protected while we work.
We stop and show you. Old concrete, buried debris, a wet pocket or roots can change the plan. Any extra is put in writing with its price and approved by you before we carry on.
Some projects do: taller retaining walls, most decks and some fences and sheds can need a building permit from the City of Hamilton. We tell you before we quote whether yours does. Underground locates through Ontario One Call are arranged before any digging, at no cost to you.
